Introducing Global Worker

This module explains the Global Worker feature (previously called Alien User) showing you how to set up agreements to enable cross-office resource sharing.

This module covers:

  • What a Global Worker is
  • When and why to use one
  • How the system works
  • The approval flow between offices
  • How to set it up and configure access

It’s a smarter way to share people across offices — without breaking your reporting or billing.

What is ‘Global Worker’?

Global Worker allows users from one office (or country) to work on projects in another office, while complying with finance system rules.

Why Is This Needed?

In financial systems:

  • A user can only exist in one location (called a ledger)
  • Without Global Worker, a user from London can’t log time on a New York (project as an example)

How Does It Work?

  • Pronto creates a “mirror user” in the borrowing office (e.g. New York) ledger in Agresso.
  • Time logged by the Global Worker is:
    • Submitted in the borrowing office’s project (for client billing).
    • Duplicated on a phantom job in the user’s home office (for internal reporting).

Result:

  • Time is visible in both locations.
  • Each office retains visibility and financial control.

With Global Worker, you get clean data, accurate reporting, and smooth billing — no matter where the work happens.
